Hi, I’m Julie. I love to read! I’ve used mobility aids & adapted everything to sitting for 30 years now. I want to read about a plucky, smart heroine who uses a wheelchair. I want to read a story where people who use wheelchairs are strong, play sports, travel, have fun and laugh. I can’t find heartwarming stories about people using wheelchairs. So I created the Poppy Findlay Mysteries.
Poppy drives a convertible, plays wheelchair tennis, swims, and visits hospitals with her dog Waffles. She’s a genealogy detective specializing in Colonial Virginia history, DNA and helping descendants of enslaved individuals discover the names of their ancestors.
Poppy’s best friend Kat, is a Deaf portrait painter and history professor. Basil is a pastry chef who runs a tea shop in the historic district of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He and Poppy live above the shop.
